Strategic Investments team leads M&A and investments across the
Connectivity & Platforms division of Comcast. Their primary
responsibility is to source and evaluate potential transactions,
ranging in value from single digit millions to billions of dollars.
A significant number of transactions are with emerging technology
companies and the team regularly meets with startup founders,
venture capitalists, investment bankers, and technical experts to
analyze opportunities. As strategic investors, they partner with
business leaders across Comcast to evaluate solutions to enhance
our product roadmap, monetize existing assets, or improve the
customer experience. Past acquisitions and investments have
included companies in the advertising, artificial intelligence,
cybersecurity, holographic display, IoT, smart home, solar,
streaming TV, and Wi-Fi verticals. Job Description The Strategic
Investments team is very lean and, therefore, the Manager will be a
key driver of the team’s success. The Manager will independently
lead workstreams across the full transaction lifecycle: sourcing
and prioritizing opportunities, owning build vs. buy assessments,
developing investment theses, and driving valuation and synergy
analysis with a clear point of view. The Manager will be expected
to proactively influence cross-functional stakeholders, manage
external counterparties (including founders and investors), and
synthesize complex analysis into crisp recommendations for senior
executives and the investment committee. In addition, the Manager
will help shape the team’s strategic roadmap by identifying
emerging trends, originating target ideas, and mentoring junior
team members to elevate output quality and pace. Core
Responsibilities Leads evaluation of potential investments,
acquisitions, and partnerships by owning investment theses, driving
build vs. buy analyses, managing advanced financial models, and
coordinating cross-functional input to form a clear recommendation
Independently develops and defends a point of view on valuation,
strategic fit, synergies, and risks using financial statements,
market intelligence, customer / competitive insights, and external
research Authors and delivers executive-ready investment committee
materials (memos, presentations, and verbal narratives) that
clearly articulate tradeoffs, sensitivities, and decision
recommendations Drives end-to-end deal execution in partnership
with Corporate Development and Legal, including diligence planning,
data room review strategy, key issue identification, and support
for negotiation strategy and term formulation Proactively
identifies and socializes new themes and targets aligned to Comcast
strategy; maintains a forward-looking view on industry trends,
earnings signals, and M&A activity to inform sourcing and
prioritization Supports portfolio value creation by coordinating
internal stakeholders, tracking operating and financial
performance, and identifying opportunities to accelerate commercial
outcomes at Comcast Mentors and reviews work product of junior team
members (where applicable), ensuring analytical rigor, story
clarity, and consistency of outputs across the team Analyzes and
evaluates potential investments, potential acquisitions or
divestitures and other investments as they relate to organization
objectives. Recommends strategies that will maximize return within
acceptable risk parameters. Identifies, research and recommends
process improvements to ensure internal controls and processes
support the achievement of top line investment goals. Ensures
Investments plans are aligned with business objectives. Consistent
exercise of independent judgment and discretion in matters of
significance. Regular, consistent and punctual attendance. Must be
able to work nights and weekends, variable schedule(s) and overtime
as necessary. Other duties and responsibilities as assigned.
Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Generally requires
5-7 years related experience Ideally a background in Investment
Banking, Private Equity, Corporate Development, or Management
