  • Tuition ReimbursementSUMMARY The Production Lead is a full-time position reporting directly to the NMR Production Supervisor. This position is responsible for assisting the Production Supervisor with the supervision of department and supporting with the related manufacturing processes. Responsibilities will include preparing and filling work orders, making sure all machines and equipment and employees are operating at full potential, ensuring quality of parts meet the standard, performing first piece inspections, and maintaining a safe work environment. Support and foster a culture that embraces, inclusion, change and focuses on continuous operational improvements that further enhance the customer experience with SP's products and services. ESSENTIAL DUTIES and RESPONSIBILITIES Include the following, other duties may be assigned:
    • A Receives pick tickets from office.
    • Create and print work orders as required
    • Prepares work to send to other areas such as Lamp, Grinding, Silkscreen, Cutting, Shrinking, and Sandblasting
    • Pulls finished goods to fill orders, matches to pick tickets and takes to shipping
    • Inspects and packs ware from lamp room etc.
    • Assigns and prioritizes work for department
    • Performs routine first piece inspections
    • Ensures requirements for orders and department needs are available and advises Production Supervisor when stock is low
    • Ability to set-up and run all equipment and machinery in department and train employees as required
    • Ensure cross-training to a capability matrix EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE/TRAINING
      • Demonstrated leadership skills
      • Effective oral and written communication skills
      • Strong organizational skills
      • Mechanical ability to understand and troubleshoot and repair machinery
      • Demonstrated motivational and leadership skills and ability to drive change in a fast-paced work environment.
      • Minimum 2-5 years supervisory experience in a manufacturing environment preferred.
      • Demonstrated problem solving skills
      • Competent knowledge and understanding of manufacturing scheduling concepts
      • Strong organization and project management skills
      • Understanding and application knowledge of SOP processes
      • Proven track record of creating, implementing and/or sustaining a continuous improvement environment or lean operation.
