This non-union position, but is not exempt from overtime despite primary duties that require performing administrative work directly related to general business operations and include the exercise of discretion and independent judgment concerning matters of significance. Avalon is looking for an seasoned Foreman with excellent time management skills to supervise daily operations of the Municipal Fleet Mainitenance shop primarily for Class A and Class B vehicles. In this working position, you will train staff, oversee maintenance services, and be responsible for ordering parts and maintain the appropriate inventory. A successful Candidate should possess a high level of skill in repairing/maintaining a diverse public works fleet, excellent leadership and people skills, customer-service skills, as well as strong troubleshooting skills. A successful candidate will be able to delegate and integrate tasks their subordinate colleagues to ensure that deadlines and standards are safely met. Foreman Responsibilities : Possess the knowledge and ability to repair and mantain passenger and service vehicles, forklifts, maintenance equipment, tractors, trailers, forklifts, and diesel trucks. Communicate with Adminstration and the work force.Acquiring and maintaining a Class A CDL truck driver. Maintain inventory and stocking warehouse, parts delivery, taking phone calls, clean shop and office Carried out routine maintenance checks and adjustments to fluids, hoses, belts, brakes, tires, clutches. Supervise and work with a team of 3 mechanics performing preventive and routine maintenance on fleet Work independently to perform general maintenance tasks, simple preventative and routine maintenance. Perform responsibilities of performing safety inspections of vehicle components and tools. Ensure that projects remain within the allotted budget. Knowledge and enforcement of all safety protocols Foreman Requirements: Strong Communication skills. Good interpersonal skills. Excellent leadership skills.
