Job Description:
Job description Essential Function: The medical assistant's
primary role is to provide safe, efficient, and appropriate patient
care under the direction of the provider or other supervisory
clinical staff, and to function as an integral part of the
patient-centered primary care team. The medical assistant also
supports administrative functions that assist in the provision of
efficient care, such as follow up phone calls and letters at the
direction of the care team clinician. Assist the clinical staff in
performing their duties and carrying on the necessary functions
required in accordance with established policies and procedures.
Skills: · Must have thorough education or training in the basics of
medical terminology. · Must have High school diploma or equivalent.
· Bilingual in English/Spanish may be required. · Prior experience
as medical assistant is helpful. · Ability to work with clinical
staff and handle pressure from more than one provider. · Commitment
to the concepts of preventive health care programs and team
approach to health care delivery. · Ability to learn about patients
and their problems. · Phlebotomy drawing certificate may be
required. · Must have a Venipuncture Certificate or equivalent. ·
Must have a current CPR Certificate. · Must have successfully
completed and graduated from a medical assistant program with
Certification. · Must be able to work hours as scheduled, which
include Saturdays, evenings or Extended. This position offers the
