Work Location: RWJUH, New Brunswick, NJ Specialty: Pathology: Clinical Pathology: Transfusion Medicine Coverage Dates Needed- start and end dates: ASAP, ongoing Please list any anticipated procedures/surgeries the provider will be required to perform and anticipated volumes. Pathologists will need to be proficient in transfusion medicine and blood banking. Our volume in 2025 was 30,000 units released from the blood bank, 200 transfusion reactions resolved, collected and processed 7600 blood products; oversaw 123 blood drives and 5200 phlebotomy procedures. Apheresis service had 500 plasmapheresis, 180 photopheresis, 230 stem cell and 90 CAR-T products. Description of Work Assignment The selected candidate will provide transfusion and blood banking services. Breakdown of Clinic Days/Sessions and/or OR Days Mon-Fri, plus night/weekend call, as noted below. Schedule of Days/Times Needed to Work/ Shift Hours Mon-Fri, 8a-5p coverage needed on site daily for the above-mentioned services. On call? Yes. Patient Load Variable number of cases per day. Board Status Requirement (BC/BE) Board certification in transfusion medicine is required. Is there additional support staff? Yes Is the provider working solo or with other providers? If so, whom? Locum provider will work with 1 other full time MD and various staff. Are there Advanced Practice Providers? If yes, is the locums provider responsible for them?
