$15.50/hr during training What You’ll Do Complies with established
policies and procedures and maintains established standards and
practices including the Compliance Program/Code of Conduct. Follows
Residents’ Rights policies at all times. Ability to push a
resident’s wheelchair indoors and outdoors to all activities, both
at Maple Farm and on trips outside the facility. Willingness to
learn specific care duties for bus trips, e.g., operating ramps,
strapping wheelchairs to bus, etc. Ensures that activity room is
set up for a program and all the needed supplies are available.
Ensures that all residents are returned promptly to their rooms at
the end of an event and that the program room is returned to its
normal state. Ensures that each activity is conducted in a positive
and professional manner. Invites and encourages residents to attend
activities. Keeps nursing team leadership aware of resident
programs. Monitors residents' participation and documents their
attendance of all events. Completes appropriate documentation
within required the timeframe and helps with care plans and
assessments as needed. Attends committee safety meetings and others
to represent the department as needed. Provides visits to residents
to meet their social and cognitive needs, especially to residents
who choose to stay in their room or are bed bound. Demonstrates
creativity and neatness when developing bulletin board posters,
communication aids and activity programs. Ensures that office area
and all rooms used for programs are neat and orderly at all times.
Attends all mandatory department meetings and facility training.
This includes, but is not limited to, attending outside training
events such as the Helping Hands Class held to assist residents who
need help during meals. Performs other duties and responsibilities
as assigned. What We’re Looking For Must be available for weekends
and evening work when necessary. Must have strong writing and
documentation skills. Must be able to use a computer. Must have
language skills essential for leading groups. Must be creative,
resourceful and imaginative. Must have patience and tact, and be
cheerful and enthusiastic. Must be able to get along with all
staff. Must be efficient and organized with a good sense of
responsibility. Additional Information The normal hours for this
position are 2:00p.m-7:00p.m. one day a week with the ability to
pick up shifts occasionally to cover vacations or call-offs in the
