Job Description:
MAJOR FUNCTION: Provides clinical and support services to
patients, providers, and staff in the Urgent Care Clinic to improve
turnaround time and facilitate maximum efficiency in the
department. Schedules patients for follow-up services. Responsible
for greeting patients, creating or verifying, analyzing, and
updating patient and insurance information. In addition, the
Technician will explain payment policies and the billing collection
process. Generate charge ticket information, accepting payment,
posting entry, and balancing payments. QUALIFICATION: A. Education:
High School diploma or equivalent required. B. Experience: Previous
experience preferred, however, will accept new graduates who have
completed an externship through an approved program. Experience in
patient care, EKG, or phlebotomy required. Must have previously
used and have a comfort level with the use basic medical
terminology. C. Certification/Licensure: CPR (American Heart
Association) certification required. Current MA/MST certification
required.
