As Quality Manager, you will work under the direction of the President of PEG.

Summary/ ObjectiveThe quality manager is responsible for managing the Quality Management System, ISO 9001, all quality-related activities, and the pursuit of continuous process and quality improvement. -This position reports directly to the president of the company. -Examples of Duties and Responsibilities - - - - - - - -

  • Direct, manage, and coach the quality department
  • Communicate and negotiate with customers in regards to quality questions, concerns, and criteria then engage necessary team members to complete action items promptly
  • Verify that customer drawings and criteria are compatible with PEG capabilities
  • Review all new and revised customer drawings, verify production process, and define inspection steps and requirements as needed
  • Make definitive quality decisions for the company; define quality parameters for questionable products; -and establish guidelines for inspection, quality acceptance, and measuring techniques
  • Manage and execute the non-conformance and corrective action processes internally and with vendors
  • Manage and execute the customer return process
  • Manage, develop, modify, improve, implement, and approve QCIPs, inspection processes and procedures, and process change requests
  • Follows and implements processes and procedures and completes documentation required by ISO 9001
  • Schedule management review meetings and document results
  • Works in conjunction with all departments to ensure the above objectives are met
  • Maintains a neat and safe work environment
  • Other duties as assigned to ensure the quality of parts and workflow
  • Follows prescribed safety measures -Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
    • Ability to read, write, speak and understand English to perform the duties of the job
    • Possesses excellent mathematical skills (addition, subtraction, multiplication, division, US Customary System and Metric System)
    • Possesses extensive knowledge of measuring devices (micrometers, sunen bore gauge, calipers, tape measure, ruler, dial indicator, etc---.)
    • Ability to read, interpret, and employ part drawings/prints and work orders
    • Possesses problem-solving ability and can render an evaluation
    • Ability to understand and record SPC data and then analyze the results that were calculated
    • Possesses extensive knowledge of quality management systems
    • Possesses excellent verbal and written communication skills
    • Possesses excellent interpersonal skills and the proven ability to work well with all levels of management, staff, and customers
    • Possesses excellent time management and computer skills
    • Possesses extensive knowledge about ISO 9001 standards -Education/ Experience Requirements
      • Bachelor's degree in math, science, or engineering related field
      • 5+ years of Quality Assurance experience
      • Experience with ERP software and Microsoft Office required
      • Experience with ISO:9001 required
      • Experience in a manufacturing environment required
        Supervisory Responsibility
        • Involved in the hiring, retention, motivation, and development of qualified personnel in inspection positions
        • Directs and manages the activities of the inspection department
        • Oversees the training of inspection employees
        • Conducts performance evaluations that are timely and constructive
        • Directs employees in inspection as to proper company policies and procedures and oversees such policies and procedures are adhered to
        • Works in cooperation with HR and management to hire employees, resolve worker problems or complaints, and administer discipline of employees as needed for the inspection department per company policies -Physical DemandsWhile performing the duties of this job the employee will have prolonged periods of walking, sitting at a desk, and working on a computer. The employee is regularly required to talk, listen, and hear. The employee is frequently required to bend, sit, stand, walk, push/ pull, handle objects (manual dexterity), and use fine finger movements. The employee must carry/ lift loads up to 25lbs. -Work EnvironmentWhile performing the duties of this job, the employee is frequently exposed to excessive noise, moving machinery, marked changes in temperature, humidity, dust, fumes, gases, and open flames. -Position Type and Expected Hours of WorkThis is a full-time position and is overtime exempt. Hours are 8am- 5pm Monday through Thursday 8am-12pm Friday. Flex scheduling is available upon request but must fit the needs of the company. -TravelTravel will be required to visit with customers and vendors as needed.
