Job Description:

next generation of automotive technicians? If so, this is your
chance to inspire high school students as they begin their journey
into the automotive field, where they will be prepared to apply
technical knowledge and skills to repair, service, and maintain all
types of automobiles. Instruction includes brake systems,
electrical systems, engine performance, engine repair, suspension
and steering, automatic and manual transmissions and drivetrains,
and heating and air conditioning systems. About us: Berks Career

business and industrial sectors. Qualifications: A high school
diploma and a minimum of four (4) years of recent, full-time
wage-earning experience in the automotive field (beyond the
training period) are required. ASE Certification and a
post-secondary degree in a related field are preferred. Experience
working with high school-aged students is highly desirable. Skills
& Competencies: The ideal candidate will possess the ability to
develop engaging lesson plans and deliver hands-on,
competency-based training in a shop/lab environment. They should
have up-to-date knowledge of current automotive protocols,
diagnostic procedures, tools, and emerging vehicle technologies,
including hybrid and electric systems. Proficiency in automotive
terminology and the ability to explain complex concepts in a clear,
student-friendly manner are essential. Strong classroom management
and organizational skills are also important, along with patience,
adaptability, and a genuine enthusiasm for mentoring high school
students from diverse backgrounds. A commitment to fostering a
safe, inclusive, and industry-aligned learning environment is a
must. Work Schedule: 2025-2026 school year start date. Normal
workday: Mon. – Fri., 7:30 am to 3:15 pm, 7 ¾ hours. The day
includes a 30-minute duty free lunch. 10-months (190 days/year).
This includes six (6) evening functions per school year equaling
three (3) contractual workdays). Two days per month, there will be
up to an additional fifteen (15) minutes added to the workday for

$3,000 to $7,500/year based on certification status and contract
conditions being met. Starting salary is based on experience and
the negotiated professional union salary matrix with annual
