for a Test Engineer to join our growing team in United States! Key
Responsibilities: Test Design & Execution: Design, develop, and
execute detailed test cases based on system requirements and
technical specifications. Perform functional, integration, and
regression testing across DER components and subsystems. System &
Protocol Validation: Validate communication between DER assets and
grid systems using protocols such as IEEE 2030.5, Modbus, DNP3, and
OpenADR. Verify conformance to interconnection and grid code
standards (e.g., IEEE 1547, CA Rule 21). Automation & Tools:
Develop and maintain automated test scripts using industry tools or
custom frameworks. Support continuous integration and testing
pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitHub Actions). Defect Reporting &
Analysis: Document and track defects, perform root cause analysis,
and collaborate with development teams for resolution. Maintain
comprehensive test logs, status updates, and traceability matrices.
Performance & Security Testing: Conduct basic load, latency, and
failover testing. Assist in testing security configurations and
ensuring data integrity and communication encryption where
applicable. Collaboration & Communication: Work closely with system
architects, developers, and QA leads to align on testing
objectives. Participate in sprint planning, daily standups, and
technical review sessions. Qualifications: Education: Bachelor’s
degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, or related
discipline. Experience: 3 years in system, software, or hardware
testing, preferably in the energy, utilities, or embedded systems
space. Experience testing distributed systems or IoT/edge devices
is a strong plus. Technical Skills: Familiarity with DER systems,
power systems communication protocols, and grid integration
standards. Proficiency in scripting languages (Python, Bash) for
automation. Experience with tools such as Wireshark, Postman,
Selenium, or SCADA test environments. Soft Skills: Strong
analytical and problem-solving skills. Clear written and verbal
communication abilities. Comfortable working in cross-functional
and agile environments. Must Have: Network testing experience.
Utilities testing (preferably Exelon) exp. Preferred
Qualifications: Hands-on experience with DERMS, inverter
simulators, or HIL (Hardware-in-the-Loop) platforms. Knowledge of
cybersecurity best practices in operational technology (OT).
Understanding of regulatory frameworks (FERC, NERC CIP, IEEE).
