nationwide. About the team For this High School English Teacher
position, you'll be working for one of our two high schools in
Philadelphia. Philadelphia Magazine recently named Freire Charter
High School (18) and TECH Freire Charter High School (26) among the
top high schools in Philadelphia. While we're proud of our

Freire Charter High School (9-12): 2027 Chestnut St, Philadelphia,

best fit. What you'll do As a member of Freire's instructional
team, you will implement high-quality, standards-aligned curriculum
to drive rigorous instruction, critical thinking, and high
achievement in your classroom, while remaining open to feedback and
instructional coaching. Responsibilities Foster a classroom
environment grounded in critical thinking, academic rigor, mutual
respect, and high expectations for all students. Implement
high-quality, content-specific curriculum and design instructional
materials that promote deep thinking and problem-solving. Maintain
consistent, proactive communication with families regarding student
progress and relevant school updates. Engage fully in professional
development and collaborate closely with colleagues to best support
student learning and growth. Teachers hired at Freire Charter High
School (20th & Chestnut St.) have the opportunity to be CREW
Leaders and will co-lead a class focusing on SEL and community
building twice a week. Who you are You believe all students can

looking for someone who meets the minimum requirements to be

required Valid state teaching certification, or a clear ability and
commitment to obtain certification Strong content-area knowledge
and instructional skill Positive, solution-oriented mindset with a
work ethic and collaborative spirit Minimum of two years of
successful experience working with diverse student populations Pay
and benefits Salaries for certified teachers entering their first
year start at $60,000, with an overall salary range of
$50,000–$85,000 based on experience and qualifications. Freire
