POPULATION SERVED: Core competencies will be assessed primarily on
the following patient populations(s) served: Malignancies involving
all body systems requiring medical/surgical, chemo/radiation
therapies including but not limited: Neuro, GYN/GU, GI, pulmonary,
skeletal and hematopoietic systems
MAJOR FUNCTION: Under the direction of the Department
Director/Supervisor, is responsible for all department
communications, patient scheduling, interviewing, records
procurement and physician secretarial duties, typing, filing and
all other department secretarial duties.
QUALIFICATION:
A. Education:High school diploma or equivalent required.
Demonstrates good secretarial and computer skills, including
Microsoft Office.
Familiar with medical terminology with good background in
communications and writing skills.
B. Experience: Possesses strong organizational skills.
Maintains emotional stability and calm disposition and have the
ability to relate with all levels of professionals.
Ability to work flexible schedules with frequent interruptions.
Demonstrates loyalty, reliability, tactfulness, honest and
discretion, maintaining confidentiality at all times.
Able to use all standard office equipment.
C. Certification None required
D. Physical Requirements: Sits for long periods and walks short
distances for most of the work shift.
Must be able to read, write and understand English.
Must possess excellent motor skills and dexterity to perform
functions of the job.
Must have sufficient eyesight and hearing so that it would not
impair job performance.
Works in a radiation hazardous area.
